The people who help design the work, and the people who check it
Two roles sit inside a certified investment and neither belongs to Finance for Peace: a peace expert, who brings knowledge of the context, and an independent verifier, who checks each year how the peace measures have been implemented.
Peace Expert
A local organisation or specialist with standing in the context, engaged by the project owner to help analyse the risks, design the measures with the people affected, and keep the work honest as the project runs. This is a structural role inside the project or investment rather than a consultation at the end of it, and it does not depend on a donor budget or a project cycle.
Independent Verifier
Appointed by the project owner and independent of the transaction. Each year after issuance, the verifier checks how the peace measures have been implemented and what they have achieved, and verifies the Peace Impact Report that the Standards Committee relies on for its renewal decision.

First cohort in progress
Finance for Peace approves peace experts through an application process, and the first applications are now under consideration. Approved organisations will appear here once their approval is recorded, with the date and the scope it covers. If you would already like to be connected with a peace expert, get in touch and we will help you find the right support.
Listing means that Finance for Peace has approved the organisation as a Peace Expert. It is not an endorsement of the organisation’s other work, and it is not an endorsement of any investment it verifies or advises on.
Apply to be approved
Peace experts are judged on their standing in the context and their record of working with communities rather than about them. Tell us what you bring, and we will get in touch.
